Spiltmilk is seeking an Early Career Creative Trainee to shadow creation and tour dates for their rural and small-scale touring show.

Playlist is a brand new dance, theatre and sketch comedy show created for rural and community touring.

Experience the complete journey of making a professional touring production

Playlist is a brand new dance, theatre and sketch comedy show and you could be involved from the very start.

Be there for the first ideas in the rehearsal room, to performing for audiences across the country.

The trainee will join Spiltmilk throughout autumn 26 during the Playlist creation period as well as some of the spring 27 tour dates. Gain insight and experience into all that goes into making a successful production for rural touring.

The role is suitable for early career performers who want to make and tour their own work in the future, are competent in performing complex choreography, and are a warm and enthusiastic presence in the studio. This position is paid.

Spiltmilk said: “We know that many early career artists want to make and tour their own work but rarely get the opportunity to see how it all happens behind the scenes.

“Funding applications, production planning, community engagement, touring logistics, marketing, venue relationships and life on the road are all things that are often learnt through experience. This traineeship is designed to open that door.”

Spiltmilk has been sticking a big fat ray of sunshine into the world of dance and performance since 2007. Based in the Midlands, the company is led by Adele Wragg and Sarah Boulter, supported by a team of fabulous freelancers.

Their work is a blend of dance, theatre, sketch comedy and a fascination with pop culture and its ability to unite people from different walks of life.

Deadline for Applications: Monday 7th September 2026
